Members must bring their membership card each time they visit the facility to attend a class/program. Membership cards must be available even if just signing a child into a program. If your card is not available, you must produce a photo ID or buy a new membership card for $5.00.
After joining the YMCA, all members listed on your membership will need to come to the YMCA and have their membership cards made. Please allow 1-2 days to have your pictures taken.
Any child 9 years of age and younger enrolled in a program must be signed in and out of the program by a parent/guardian.
The Salt Fork YMCA is a tobacco free campus. No smoking or other tobacco products are to be used on YMCA facilities or grounds.
Physical and/or verbal abuse and misconduct is not tolerated and will result in disciplinary action.
Report any misconduct or accidents to the Member Services Desk representative on duty.
Members must park in designated parking spaces and not temporarily along the sidewalk. This interferes with other members trying to maneuver out of a space and leave.
Early Bird deadline is the last date to sign up for programs to avoid the higher cost of the regular program fee. Credits and refunds are only made by the Early Bird deadline. Only Suzanne Smith, C.E.O., can make exceptions to these policies.
No gum is allowed in the facility. Food and drinks are allowed in the lobby and social room only.
A paging system is not available, therefore phone calls or messages for members cannot be accepted. In an emergency situtation, staff will attempt to locate a member.
Your membership will be suspended for allowing unauthorized individuals use of your membership card and for assisting in the fradulent abuse of visitor and guest passes.
Children under 10 years of age may use the YMCA only when a parent/guardian at least 14 years of age is in the facility.
Daily lockers and locks are available at no charge. Rental lockers are available in locker rooms for an annual fee.
The YMCA's 5 core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, care, and faith are all promoted and the lack of discipline of these values will result in counseling and possible disciplinary action being taken.
No male child over the age of 5 is allowed in the women's locker room and no female child over the age of 5 is allowed in the men's locker room.
Inclement Weather Policy:
The YMCA will stay open under most weather conditions if possible.
The pool will be closed when lightning is detected and must remain closed until 30 minutes after the last detected lightning strike.
Regulary scheduled programs will be cancelled at the YMCA if the Marshall Public Schools are closed due to weather conditions. Please listen to KMMO 102.9 FM for program cancellations.
Please no food or drink in the gymnasium area.
Dunking and/or hanging on the basketball rim is prohibited.
The gym will be closed for youth and some adult sports activities.
No black soled shoes that cause black marks will be allowed on gym floor. No profanity is allowed in the facility.
Children 9 years old or younger in the swimming pool area must have direct supervision by a parent/guardian 14 years or older.
No free swimming in the pool during a class.
No flips or back dives.
Please shower before entering the pool.
Eating and drinking are not allowed on pool deck.
Please no running on deck or rough play.
Approved bathing suits and swim trunks are required.
All children in diapers must wear swim diapers to prevent leakage.
Children who cannot touch the bottom are not allowed in the pool without a parent or lifejacket.
The lifeguard will have the final decision in all situations.
Youth must be 15 years old to use the sauna facilities.
All swim lessons (private and group) must be instructed by YMCA Lifeguards and/or Swim Instructor employees.
All participants playing handball or racquetball must wear eye protection.
Reservation of court time is allowed 24 hours in advance for a 1 hour time period.
Reservations for walleyball may be made for a 2 hour time period.
No black soled shoes on the racquetball court please.
Second Floor Wellness Center:
No food or drink is allowed on the second floor, water only please.
Appropriate shoes and clothes must be worn at all times. No one will be allowed to exercise barefoot or with sandals, shower shoes, etc.
Youth under the age of 13 are not allowed on the second floor unless they are participating in a program or with their parents'/guardians' direct supervision.
Children 10 and older that have successfully completed the Young Runner's Orientation may use the track.
Youth ages 14 and older may use the Cybex equipment.
No children under the age of 15 are allowed to use the Free Weights.
Please put weight equipment away after use.
Clean soled shoes instead of street shoes are encouraged for the aerobics floor.
It is the parents' responsibility to ensure that their children do not interfere with other runners or walkers on the track. In consideration of other runners/walkers, we advise that small children be left in the child care room.
Laps per mile are 12 for inside lap, 11 for middle lap, and 10 for outside lap.
The cycling studio is closed except when classes are in session.
