What is Swim
Team |
If you
love to swim, want to strengthen your skills, train and
compete in a fun fitness sport, then you should join the
swim team. The YMCA Manta Rays offers a unique and
exciting opportunity for children to experience the world of
competitive swimming. This is for children ages 6-18
who can swim 5 yards in the deep end without stopping.
This
program is not only to build strong swimmers, but to prepare
youngsters for life. Through experience in swimming,
our young people learn attitudes, life disciplines and
habits that will remain with them.

You must
have a membership to participate in meets that have a
sanction. The cost of membership is an additional $48.00
for the year.
A swimmer
does not need this membership to be on the team, but if they
would like to compete on a higher level, they will need this
membership.
If you do
not have this membership, there will still be meets that the
swimmer will be able to participate in.

What
to Expect From
Swim
Meets:
Swim meets are a time for the swimmers to
show the skills
they have learned at practices.
Winning first place is not
our first priority, it is achieving
individual goals that will
progress into those first place finishes.
We promote good
sportsmanship, improvements that need to
be made, using
good manners, team unity, and many other
qualities that
will build values and character in each
swimmer that will
create a stronger and more confident
individual.
