Zumba Fitness

What is Zumba Fitness???

Zumba is rapidly becoming the next fitness sensation and is inspired by Latin dance. Zumba combines Latin rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create an aerobic routine that is effective, fun and easy to follow. This one-of-a-kind combination of dance and exercise focuses not on the fact that you are working out, but that you are having fun working it out while dancing!

The name Zumba is derived from a Colombian word meaning to move fast and have fun. The Zumba program will tone and sculpt the body through fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning.

Don’t worry, you don't have to know how to dance to do Zumba! BUT...don’t take our word for that...join us and see for yourself!

Enjoy this fantastic new class with your

Zumba Certified Instructor

Ashlee Schulenberg

America On The Move

America On the Move Week with the YMCA is part of the YMCA's national initiative known as YMCA Activate America®.  Activate America is the YMCA's bold approach to directly address our nation's lifestyle health crisis.  Activate America shifts how we are working inside and outside the YMCA to engage all children, youth, adults and families whose successful pursuit of health and well being in spirit, mind and body requires continuous supportive relationships and environments.

Instructions:

An adventure a lot like the hit television show "The Amazing Race"-you will be given clues to read, and you have to figure out where they lead!  You will start here and read the first clue, make sure to put the clue back in the pocket so others can play too! The clues are numbered in order so if you skip a number go back to your clue and reread it so you can find the right one. All of the clues lead you to a location inside the YMCA. Have fun, and if you get stumped head to the front desk for a little bit of help! (You can go as fast or as slow as you wish, finish in half an hour or spread it over a few days. It is wonderful fun!)

*Remember you still have to follow the YMCA rules-so if you are too young to go to certain areas by yourself, get an adult to go with you!

Families will love this exciting adventure. Let’s ride across Kansas and settle at the birthplace of Buffalo Bill for a one night stay. We’ll glimpse at fossils found in the past at the Keystone Gallery.

The next day will be a half a day small hike to a remote location to dig in search for the previewed fossils. Entering the fossil beds, you will encounter awesome scenery, including extraordinary rock formations ideal for picture taking.

Price includes three meals and accommodations.

The fossils you find,

you get to take home with you!
